Just enrolled (well, had interview for course last night) all seems good and met a few nice people already in the 2 hours we were there
My work are paying for my course fees, exam entries and also materials so I want to take full advantage and order the best books there are for AAT Foundation Level.
Knowing some of you have already taken and passed this level, please advise on which books / materials to purchase to assist me in the course.
Thank You
Jamie

Hi Jamie.
What reading list does your college have? It would be best to use the books that your tutors are teaching from.

Which are "These" ones? I'm intrigued - I'm apparently getting a phonecall to see whether there's a palce for me on the course (I hope so cos I already registered as an AAT member lol) so I will ask what resources they use to teach so I can let you guys know.
Thanks for helping.

Hiya
My college uses BPP books and the college had already ordered them when we started the course, so we bought them from the college0 -
Re:AAT Foundation NVQ2 - Which Resources?
We used BPP books and they were terrible. Half of it was wrong and we ended up spending most of our time correcting them. And some of the practice questions have the wrong answers in the back, which isnt particularly helpful when you're trying to revise!0 -
Re:AAT Foundation NVQ2 - Which Resources?
The college supplied us with BPP books for Intermediate and I found them OK, a few errors but nothing too serious. the BBP books were slightly more in depth than the Osborne ones, but this often made them more confusing. I bought the Osborne tutorials as well and will do the same for Technician if I can afford it.
For Foundation the book you want is Foundation Accounting Tutorial, David Cox and Michael Fardon, Osborne. There is an associated workbook but I've no idea what that's like.

Re:AAT Foundation NVQ2 - Which Resources?
well, apparently the books are all included in the course price so we get them from college. I still wanted some books for myself though so I had another angle to look at problems that may arise.
I'll look into that book that you mention Chris Foundation Accounting Tutorial
Thanks All
Look forward to chatting next term.. still think there should be a live help room somewhere.0 -
Re:AAT Foundation NVQ2 - Which Resources?
My college uses the Osborne books, but expected us to get them ourselves. Take a look here:

You'll need the three Yellow books for Foundation. I found the Tutorial a good introduction to the basics, the Workbook invaluable for Skills Tests and Exams, but didn't get much use out of the Office Skills book.
I ordered mine from my local independant bookshop- trying to support them so the chains don't force them out of business. Great service- they delivered my technician books to my office personally!
If you must, Blackwells are the best chain for textbooks but any branch of WH Smiths should be able to get them in for you. You can probably get a better price online. I've never tried Amazon for textbooks.0
