What happens if both exams have been passed but one of the skills test has not been completed would i have to redo the whole year???
Or do you think i can get around it?
The reason i ask is because some people have started AAT from technician level without completing foundation or intermediate and myself i started straight on intermediate so i was wondering if passing the exams might just be sufficient to start technician level without doing wasting a year

Hi Shades.
You just have to resit the skills test. You can start Technician and pass your skills test later.

Re:What happens if...
My own college will still let you start technician with any one of the following missing as long as you make sure you eventually complete it;
Either central exam,
Any one skills test,
Your portfolio
Any one project, either WWC or H&S
I don't know about your college, but mine doesn't let anyone go straight in at technician level. While you can skip foundation, everyone has to do the intermediate stage as the WWC & H&S projects are not allowed to be missing since they form part of the whole NVQ thing.0 -

Hi
I agree with blobbyh. My college only lets people skip foundation not intermediate as you have to do WWC and H & S.0 -
Re:What happens if...
i failed My intermediate FRA exam!!! bit miffed to be honest..but i thought i could resit it in Dec with my Technicians...but i had the work based co ordinator out and she told me i have to resit the whole year and cant be placed on Technicians until next sept!!! this takes the p*ss if thats true...my Tutor told me b4 the exam if anyone failed they can resit..now im even more depressed cause its not that i dont understand...i knew i made mistakes as i came out the exam... but it was only half of the FRA exam that i didnt pass!!! bummer0 -
Re:What happens if...
Hi Dave,
Thats complete rubbish!! Everyone I know thats studying (or studied) AAT both at my college and at others say you can carry it over.
My college have a rule that you can only carry over one module as they feel more than that would put you under so much pressure you would probably not be able to keep up with the new work, and therefore, fail anyway!!
If they don't let you start the Technician level then it is down to the college - not the AAT!
Hope it works out for you!0 -
Re:What happens if...
Dave did mention the 'work-based co-ordinator'. If he is doing a Modern Apprenticeship the rules may be different.

Re:What happens if...
apparently the rules have changed as a lad went to resit his level 3 while he was sitting his level 4 in the Dec...but somehow managed to pass level 4 but fail level 3 again....
so AAT said it makes a mockery of the system as he passed the higher paper and not the lower!!
so the Work based co-ordinator said i cant be put on til next sept!!
strange how its suddenly changed...
im just gutted i failed one half and passed the other!!
messed section one up of FRA!!!0
