Technician Stage - Milton Keynes College or Financial Training Company???

I am currently in the process of selecting a centre to complete the Technician stage of the AAT. My main choices are Milton Keynes College and the Financial Training Company (based in Milton Keynes). I was wondering if anyone has attended either of these and can let me know how they are finding the course and the tuition?

    I passed all my AAT at Milton Keynes College and found them really good. You also have a choice of BPP who are over the road from the college.

    MK college is the cheapest option though (no VAT) and I can recommend them.

    I have looked into BPP and that involves a lot of home study, so I was not too sure about them.
    The Technician stage is two nights a week at MK college, which I will have to do. Did you manage this ok or did you do day release?
    The FTC hold classes one night a week, which may be better in some ways but then I'm worried there may not be enough tuition time.

    I think you'll find that with BPP or FTC the tuition time isn't that much less than it is at the college, it's just all structured differently.

    I did day release.

    When I took my exams, I took them with the people who did the night classes and as far as I'm aware we all had similar pass rates.

    I have just completed Technician with FTC and fast tracked it and did it all within a four month period.

    The extra cost is well worth it.

    That's great, well done!!
    How did you manage that? Did you just really commit yourself & do lots of home study!

    I cant say that I was dedicated until I did my revision course so did some work then. I also opted for the skills test modules as you cant fail them.

    FTC tuition and revision was excellent.

    I also have a 3 year old son, so i had to find a happy balance aswell.

    Did you do the day release and all your exams in one sitting?
    I'm finding hard to decide where will be the best place to study, as the college seem to provide quite a bit more tuition time but I have heard a few good recommendations about FTC.

    You must be really pleased to have got through it so quick :D

    Yeah I did all exams in one sitting in PCR, PEV and PCR. I then did the skills tests for IAP and OCMC after exams. Then worked on my project when I had spare time.

    I did it on day realease as my employer was paying for it.

    You do get less tuition time but it is quality. I did my Foundation at a Further Education College and then moved to FTC to do Intermediate and Technician it is the best thing I ever did

    I studied at FTC and had fantastic tutors. I would highly recommend them. :D

    Dawn, what was the main difference between the college and FTC, the way the tuition was set out and the tutors being a bit better or just everything overall? Are you going onto study more now or are you going to take a break!

    If you both think the FTC is that good and provide enough tuition time, and can get me through it on the evening course then they definitely sound like the better option. Their pass rates are pretty good aswell.

    The tutors were excellent, they really know there stuff and you can email them with any problems you have. It is very intense and concentrates on the areas that are likely to come up in the exams. The revision courses are equally as good an consolidate everything that you have learnt on the course. They have open days so you maybe able to go and visit and suss it out for yourself.

    I am going to start ACCA in september, really looking forward to it.

    I will have to see about going in then. Not long until it all starts now!

    Goodluck with the ACCA, going by how well you done with Technician you'll do really well with ACCA :D

    That will be my next decision, where to go after the AAT!!!
