Hi,

I've just completed the Intermediate level :D and I was hoping to complete Technician within a year, but the college that I study at have recommended everyone to take the Technican over two years.

Is there anybody out there who has managed to qualify on technican in one year?

Or could anyone offer any advise?

Many Thanks

    Hi there,
At least 3 people at my college have completed Technician with the June exams.
Unfortunately, I failed DFS, so need to re-take this in December (had too many in June to take it then), but I am hoping to have passed within 15 months.
    Hope that helps.

Thanks for replying purplegirl. It is nice to hear that people have managed to get through it in a year, even 15 months sounds better than 2 years! Good luck in December.

    Hi there,

I would say if you take all the technican units excluding BTC and PTC then it is def possible in one year. It is still poss with PTC and BTC without cash mgmt and audit but it is harder due to the amount of exams to be taken at once.

    Good luck

    Hi,
I did technician in 1 year - we did PEV and PCR in the December exams, then I did auditing in Jan, did my project, then did Business tax and DFS in June. Some people at my college did the cash management option in July, once they'd got DFS out of the way. It was hard work at times, but definetly worth it!

I would definitely say do it in a year as if you go are going to continue with your studies after AAT it is going to be another two and a half years.

I have just completed my Technician in about 4 months with FTC.

I didnt do the tax modules and sat the 3 exams for the core units in June. I then did the skills tests for OCMC and IAP in July.

I am so glad that I have done it this way and not wasted too much time on AAT

The way that you have completed the Technician year sounds great. I hadn't thought of studying with FTC. Did you have to attend classes or did you study from home?

    Hi

I have just completed Technican Level in June.

Project - during the summer and september.
    PEV & PCR in December.
Cash Managment straight after the exams till Mid Feb.
Auditing January till April 1 hour at college per week.
DFS - Mid Feb till Exams
PTC - Mid Feb till Exams
BTC - Mid Feb till Exmas

Failed BTC in June but still passed Technican Level but will retake in December this year (only have 3 lessons on this due to staff illness).

It is possible to pass it in one year does take some hard work and understanding but if you can get the project out as soon as possible you do get some added confidence that you have already passed one unit.

Our college allowed us to do the above due to the timetable but it will not be possible in all cases.

    Hope this has helped

    Julia :D

I attended on day release, it was definitely worth it.

    FTC was fantastic!

Hi our college has everyone do it in a year.
Most of my friends did it that way and passed (swots!) I however chose to do it over two years and found it easier due to other commitments.
All depends on how much time you have to dedicate to it but it is possible to do it in a year.
    :)
