Did any one take this. How did you find it? was it really difficult?

    Hi, i did personal tax last year, i found it both fun and pretty straight forward, its a good steping stone if you are going onto do business tax becasue there are quite a few things that are interelated. if your gonna take one you may as well take them both.

    I have decided to take personal tax and credit control, can you go on and do business tax seperate once you have completed your AAT qualification

    Hi lisa1986,

    Yes you can take all the exams for AAT if you wish. You only have to do 2 options and the 3 examas 1 project to pass AAT but you can do the lot. Would look better on ur CV.

    Can someone briefly describe the main differences between Personal Tax and Business Tax? Ive chosen Cash Management and I'm in a dilemma about which one to choose. I've read up a little but I'm struggling to understand fully.

    Well the most obvious difference is that personal tax is related to indiviuals, e.g your personal tax affairs, pensions, PPR, investments where as business tax is taxation for business's e.g. capital gains tax, different tax rates, allowances, rollover reliefs etc. If i was to choose one before the other i would choose personal tax as a lot of the basic princaples you learn are taken across to business tax, if you have the time i would try and take both however! and Yes TAX IS FUN!

    Thanks for that Rugby, it does make sense to take them both, Ill have exams, simulations and projects coming out of my ears in the next year or so, so Ill have to think about taking another unit (Business Tax) on.

    I have opted for credit control and business tax. Was going to do personal tax as it seemed more interesting,etc but many people advised me that as I'm planning to do ACCA then business tax would help more in the tax paper in ACCA, lets hope its true. I havent actually started studying bus. tax will be starting in around a couple of weeks.
