Just wondering if it is possible to try and do the diploma level without registering with a college. If so how do the skills tests work??
Just a bit short on cash at the mo
.
Thanks

Hi
For the exam units you shouldn't have a problem - just buy the books and register for the exams. As for the skills tests, you may have to register with a college. A few years back BPP used to offer skills tests and marking for about £60 each for the NVQ. There isn't and never has been any mention of this on their website but you could order via customers services. Not sure they still do this however.

I did Foundation by skills test and you used to be able to do the skills test at your workplace as long as you were supervised.

Hi
Should have mentioned, the BPP arrangement was distamce learning, so you had to arrange a suitable supervisor.

I did all technician level by just buying the books its a lot cheaper than home study, the only thing I need to register with a centre is to have my project marked, I am having problems finding a college to do just the one unit with.0 -

Hi
FTC, BPP and Premier will allow you to register for individual units, but you would have to pay for the entire unit and not just the skills test.

Hi
They usually are OK with your line manager or supervisor signing your work off. It needs to be someone who is more senior than you.
I would give the AAT a phone to check that you can still do this.
Good luck.
