HMRC Receipts

I recently had to deliver some sensitive paperwork to the tax office for an enquiry and was refused a receipt. I was refused a phone call through to the tax inspector concerned. I took the parcel away and sent it was special delivery.
Has anyone else come across this "no receipt" business with HMRC?

    It is one of their "new policies" not signing for anything. If I have to take anything to them, I will instead send it recorded delivery. Then you can go to www.royalmail.com and type in your receipt number and print off a copy of the PO receipt which has the name on it - expensive but worth it, so that things dont get "lost" - they still do, but you can prove that they have lost them :lol:

    It is one (of the many) reasons why I now file online where necessary, so you get an instant receipt and no postage costs :D

    I dont understand why they wont sign - but they wont!

    NEWS FLASH

    I complained about the Tax office not issuing a receipt and have received an apology. Their policy is to not issue receipts for Returns, but they should, upon request, issue receipts for other items. They are apparently re-training their staff at my local office. They even offered me compensation!

    Yes and going extreemly well in North Yorkshire.

    Revenue here actually listen and alter !

    Serious note....

    Anyone need problems airing (not individual client cases) but general problems post here or let me know and I will take up at next meeting.

    Must admit, I haven't heard about Working Together locally. Do they exist in Norfolk?

    There are working together groups all over the country.

    I do know that I am represending North Yorkshire and I have close contact with the South and West Yorkshire AAT Representatives.
