BPP Lost My Paper!!!!

I have just found out that, after months of chasing up my Unit 5 skills test to be marked, BPP have now informed me they have lost it, despite constant reassurances in the past it was there to be marked!!!
Not only that they are now asking me to re sit it! Why do I get punished?
I have forwarded an email to AAT, but am wondering what is the AAT's obligation in these instances? Are they supposed to award me the mark? Has anyone else experienced what I am going through?

Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
that is terrible, when I was at college, if something like that happened you wasn't made to re-sit as it wasn't your mistake. They took the average of your other skills tests and assess from them if you are competant or not competant. They should also be able to assess whether you would have passed from previous work on that unit and from your tutor. You definately should not be made to re-sit!!0 -
Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
Complain to BPP and AAT really strongly - make sure that you do not have to resit the paper.
Then start on compensation......
(I am not a great believer in the compensation culture - but this is terrible, and they should give you something - free books, free courses etc etc)

Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
Hiya,
Slightly different thing but BPP lost my portfolio for my apprenticeship scheme.
I am now being told I have to do the work again in order for my company to get their money back.
I think its terrible!

Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
Try complaining direct to AAT, and ask them to approach BPP on your behalf - after all it is AAT that licenses or whatever BBP to sell their work, and therefore must be an accredited institution.
Claudia
PS - please let us know how you get on.0 -
Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
Thanks for your advice.
I complained to one of BPP director's, in charge of quality assurance(?), can you believe that!! She wholeheartedly apologised, but was insistent I redo the skills test, and cant award me the mark. She blamed it on an office move, and loss of staff. How is any of that my problem?
Anyway in the company post bag today was a copy of a new skills test!!
I have forwarded my email correspondance to AAT, and hopefully I will get something positive out of it!!

Dont expect the AAT to do anything because they will
not. What I would do is contact student service t the AAT and speak to John Allum who is in charge of student services and see what he says.

Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
BPP seem to making a habit of this. They lost my unit 4. When I contacted them they said that I would have to resit it but when I contacted the AAT they said the they would have to grant me a competent grade. In the end the paper was found. But I agree that BPP do seem to having a lot of problems.0 -
Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
I'm still waiting to findout what they have done with my unit 17 submission to AAT, 9 months after I completed the skills test.
No one there knows what is going on, its a complete mess.0 -

Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
Hi Katie
Firstly, I have never studied with BPP so I personally have no gripes with you
I just want to say how very brave you have been putting your email address on here, and I think that you will have improved BPPs street cred enormously.

Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
Even so, I think I won't be signing up with BPP this year! Can do without that sort of hassle on top of the already hard enough work!0 -
Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
I have to admit reading all this is putting me off handing in my skills tests and portfolio to be marked - I work full time, as do many of us, and just don't have time to wait months and months and do re-sits for lost work.
Fair play though - at least BPP have admitted there is a problem and are trying to do something about it.0 -
Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
If you're studying with us (BPP) then send it in to me:
Katie Usmar

Send it in recorded delivery (Or hand deliver it)
Email me at katieusmar@bpp.com to let me know its on its way and I will let you know when we're received it and do what I can to push your work as a priority.
If you have to pay the postage yourself then let me have a copy of the receipt and I can also refund this cost to you.
Hope this helps

Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!

Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
i must admit, BPP have improved and have been able to help me on many occasions recently.
i do think it helps having a name you can actually contact.
i have emailed BPP (Katie) and she has helped me and ansered my queries immediatley.
hope it stays this way as i feel more confident now

Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
I still think it would help a lot if we all had our own personal tutors - Katie is going to get inundated now!
Everyone I know who are with other training providers have their own tutor who maintains regular contact with them - they're there if you need them and also chase you up for work!

Re:BPP Lost My Paper!!!!
Just wondering if a learning provider ever had its AAT acreditation revoked... and exactly how rubbish a provider would have to be for that to happen?
