Has anyone else had any problems, I bought a NUS Extra card on line and it has told me that it had been dispatched on the 25th of Sept and should take 7 days to arrive and I'm still waiting, Im really disappointed after spending £10.00, I am due to contact the NUS tomorrow to find out where it is, I hope it goes well.

Re:Nus Card not arriving
I didn't think they were available to us yet either, there is no application form on the website for AAT student yet anyway!0 -
Re:Nus Card not arriving
It's the NUS Associate cards that applies to AAT members - who are mostly home study or part-time students.
The NUS extra card is a card you purchase in addition to the free membership card you get given when you are a full time student who studies at an institution which belongs to the union.
The free card no longer gets you any discounts, you have to pay £10 to get the extra card which entitles you to the discounts.
If you study full time, you should be able to get an extra card. You may even be able to get one if you study part time at college, but I'm not sure!0 -

How to apply for it?

Re:Nus Card not arriving
As I said in my previous post - the NUS card available to AAT students is the NUS assosciate card.
The normal NUS card and NUS Extra card are only available to full time students studying somewhere that is a member of the NUS.
The idea of an associate card is that the NUS recognises that not all students are full-time. The reason this is offered to AAT students is because most of them are part-time students and a lot are home study and therefore do not belong to a college/uni which is part of the union.
If you study AAT full time at a college belonging to the NUS, you will be able to get a normal NUS and NUS Extra card.
If you study AAT part time at a college or are home study, you will be able to apply for an Associate card once the forms are available.

Re:Nus Card not arriving
I agree with you. I'm going on my hols in three weeks and i was wanting to buy some new clothes but I thought if I held out long enough I'd be able to use my NUS card, but its not looking that way. I'll have to persuade my little sister to come with me so that she can pay for the clothes and I'll give her the money so that way I'll get the discount with her NUS card instead. Just more hassle though.0 -
Re:Nus Card not arriving
erm reading the small print at the back of the application form it says it can take 6 weeks for the NUS extra card to arrive.
