I have just started doing AAT intermediate from Founddation. I would like to concentrate on doing book keeping really in work and for people in my spare time too to make some extra money.

Do you think Intermediate is right for me or should i been doing another book keeping course say through ICB.

I work in industry where basically doing sales ledger and purchase ledger is just comouter data input and i dont get to see the trial balance or anything. I was thinking about changing to practice or seeing what bookkeeping jobs are avaliable.

any suggests or am i just talking jibberish?

    Hi

I'd say that AAT is fine for what you wont to do. It covers more than just book-keeping and so can open up more opportunities for you.

ICB Book-keeping is well worth doing. The ICB Advance Book-keeping is pretty tough going. I find the ICB Advance Book-keeping covered much more than the AAT FRA exam.

Once you are a member of ICB, the institute will send you jobs through email or by visiting their website.

The majority of jobs cateres for small/medium size business who require a part time book-keeper.

    Hi

I still think that AAT technician will cover more than ICB.

Oh yes, AAT Technician will cover more than ICB Exam since the AAT Technician is level 4 qualification whereas ICB Advance Book-keeping is a Level 3 Qualification. However, ICB Advance Book-keeping covers a lot more final Accounts than AAT Intermediate Level as more final Accounts topics are covered more in depth.
