Hi Guys,

This May sound stupid but i'm a very indecisive person and need some advice. I failed my PEV exam in june  but somehow managed to pass DFS and PCR :D. Anyway i am supposed to be re-sitting PEV in December but i don't know if i can do it. I Haven't been back to college since the June Exams and haven't picked up a book as of yet. Also i've just bought my first house and plan to be moving in the last week of november/first week of December (very bad timing i know) so i don't know what to do. Do i put it off and concentrate on it after Xmas when i am settled in my house? Or do i give it my all and cram it all in for the next month and hope and prey i get through it?
I know only i can make the final decision but any advice is welcomed as no1 close to me really understands the pressures plus i will have to tell my boss!!!!!!!!! Someone please help

    Hi Jan,
well done for taking 3 exams and passing two! I was/am in the same situation as you, just moved, house needs decorating etc and 2 exams booked for December. My husband is waiting for his date to go and work overseas and I decided I would not study until he went. So I put my books away, now I've got them back out and have 2 exams in December!! How indecisive it that!! All I can offer is go with your gut feeling and what you are comfortable with. Do you think you can pass PEV in december or is it a subject you need to concentrate on? Whatever you decide, Don't feel guilty, I beat myself up for days for putting my books away, then I talked to my husband, (that's always a good thing, getting another opinion, as you are doing....) then went from there really. Sounds like you go to college, what are the implications if you don't go regarding the december exam? Can you still take it without attending, do you get books to take home? I am on home study so I'm lucky to be in a position where I dictate the pace. You say, you can make the final decision, that's good because you don't have pressure from your work/college then.
The bottom line is, go with whatever feels right, don't stress out with taking an exam, moving home is bad enough!!!!!
    Best wishes
    Mandy

    Hi Jan.

Resit in December while it is relatively fresh in your mind.

    Hi Jan

If you have paid for the re-sit you might as well go for it as it's to late to cancel and you will not get your money back so what have you got to loose there is a good chance you may pass this time.

All the best and good luck.

If you've already entered and paid for the exam you might as well sit it, you never know you might just surprise yourself.

Well, I was gutted when I still failed PCR after my appeal and wasn't sure whether to re-take on December along with DFS. I ended up re doing the question at home and got it right this time.
I am back at college but they are not even teaching PCR until next term, so I am revising on my own alongside DFS, but I do feel confident about PCR this time.
You should do a couple of practice/past papers and see how you get on. Look back over your notes and books from last year.
I'm not moving house, but I don't see why you can't succeed if you put the work in.

    Just gor for it....

Im in the same boat....failed it twice, passed PCR and DFS in June and done nothing since.....

My theory is that i know the bulk of it, it just needs refreshin in my head, i know what part of the paper i failed on both times so im just gonna concentrate on that and skim over the other areas....

    Re:Re-Sit PEV in December...or NOT??

Thanks for all your advice everyone. I had a long think about it over and the weekend. I hadn't put in for the exam so i wouldn't have lost any money if i didn't sit but i would have had to have gone to work and approached my boss with reasons why i didnt want to sit. Also i would have felt guilty while other colleagues were off work studying while i was getting into the festive season early. So anyway i had to make a decision by today as it was the last day for entering for the exams and i just decided to go for it im still not 100% but if the worst comes to the worst i just wont sit the exam and i will pay my employers back for the money they have paid for the exam. I may have to put off moving into my house but isuppose it will only be delaying it a week or two. Oh well time to start cramming the work in!!
