A bit of advice if possible? I will hopefully be completing AAT in Dec 06 with the completion of the Audit skills test. A couple of us are looking in to doing ACCA in September, however having looked through the ACCA papers for Level 2 I noticed that they have a Business TaxUnit. We did not opt for to do the Business Tax Unit in AAT. Does anyone know if AAT will allow us to go on and pay to do this individual unit (by distance learing or college) even though we will be AAT qualifed? Hopefully this would then help us when we start ACCA.

Re:Business Taxation
I am doing just that; bought the Osborne books; going through them (word by word) and entering the exam in December under my own steam0 -
Re:Business Taxation
Just because you have qualified it won't stop you from taking any additional units that you may think will help you in the future. Just go for it!

Re:Business Taxation
I found that it helped that I did both taxes when I did 2.3 at ACCA as both units are covered. However you may be better just studying for the ACCA paper, if you were picking your technician options I would have suggested doing them but I wouldn't bother doing them as extras. Although as Dean says there's nothing stopping you as I did 3 out of the 4 (gave me a fall back if I failed one of the taxes).
In short you would probably be better putting the effort into studying 2.3 than doing AAT then having to do it again.

Many thanks for all the advice, I may look at doing the extra unit as I can't start ACCA until September!
