Hello all,
wondering if could help me out a little...
i need to calculate the percentage increase in the total monthly wages, that results from the wages increase given.
The total wages before wage increase for 5 different departments is £122,500
after wage increases of 4% for 3 depts & 2% for the other 2 depts the total wages are £126,371
the way i read the question, just asks for the difference between the two totals as a percentage???

The way to do it is:
126,371-122,500/122,500x100 = %age increase
I can't work out the actual % increase as I don't have a calculator to hand.0 -

No prob. I have just quickly done it on excel and I think the figure you are looking for is an increase of 3.16% (but double check first).
