I have just taken on a new client who's using Quickbooks 2006, and have therefore had to upgrade my Quickbooks software to the 2006 version, so I was wondering whether anyone would be interested in buying my old copy of Quickbooks Accountant 2005 from me? It's the full version with about 8 months of the integrated payroll service left, which you could renew after that. I know there's a few people here who are interested in trying quickbooks,
which is why I wanted to post this before trying to sell it on ebay.

    Ebay is your best bet. I am sure you will have no problem selling it.

    Do you think it is safe to buy software on ebay?

    I am only just starting up and want to learn about quickbooks and have found it on ebay for £5.50, I know a few who use it and have a few accountants who have specifically asked for quickbooks experience so I am thinking the more software I know the more chances of getting clients!

    I don't want to do anything illegal!

    £5.50 was be a starting bid which is fine. If it is a buy it now price, steer clear!

    make sure you read exactly what you're getting - when i had a look it seemed that people were selling trial versions (which expire after 60 days) and some looked like illegal copies.
    I bought the regular version for my sister from ebay - it looked like a good deal but when i got the invoice i realised that they'd added VAT on and the postage was extortionate and it was only licensed for educational use. still worked out slightly cheaper but i'd not buy from them again!

    I have bought many things on ebay, including an accountant edition of Quickbooks with no problems. Just make sure you ask plenty of questions first and read the full description. If they mis-describe you can always report the matter to ebay.

    Oh in my case they hadn't mis-described it at all, I'd just been in such haste to buy it that I hadn't read it all properly. when will i learn? :lol:
