Is anyone else doing this? I'm feeling quietly confident but I don't want to get too confident and then mess everything up. I'm hoping to get a lot more revision in.
Speaking of revision I went to my revision class yesterday and I was the only one to turn up. I thought I was in the wrong room, or had been told the wrong information or had the wrong day. The tutor was just as shocked as me.

Re:ECR December 06 Exams
I'm doing ECR in december and I am really panicking. I'm ok in class and I feel really confident and that I'm understanding it, but by the time I get home and sit down and do some studying I've forgotten it all!
I'm finding limiting factors really difficult. I'm ok now with LIFO, FIFO and AVCO, Payback Discount Cash Flow, but I'm struggling with the bit in the middle like limiting factors, marginal costing, and I cant seem to memorise the formulae for breakeven point and pv ratio etc
I've worked myself up and am really nervous now!0 -
Re:ECR December 06 Exams
Ooh I'm bad with formulas as well. I've changed my mind about being quietly confident. I've just taken the ftc mock exam. That was awful. I think I remembered some of the formulas and I did remember what my tutor kept saying "Even if you think it is wrong put it down, the worst he can give you is 0." So I did answer every question, whether it wil do me any good...0 -

I think the key with formulas in ECR is to try and understand what you're actually doing when you're using a formula rather than just memorising the it. That's probably a slightly obvious point to make but it helped me through.
I've some brief notes on short-term decisions here - there's some on overheads too if you need them but that's as far as I got with my ECR notes.
Just don't ask me about process costing :?

Re:ECR December 06 Exams
I've found I can remember the formulas now. I wrote them out over and over again, literally a side of A4 for each formula. It's well worth doing if it means you'll pass!
I did a mock today but it was one my training provider knocked up, and I thought it was awful. I found it really difficult because the layout was terrible, I couldn't understand how it all followed on.
I'm feeling a bit better about the exam now but I am worried about the simulation because I can't find any to practice.
Good luck
