Hired car - tax implications

Please can somebody help. If an employee is given a company car but that car is a hire car, is the taxable benefit still calculated in the same way?

    Would have thought so, as the benefit to the employee would be the same

    This is only a guess, but I guess it is the cost of the hire to the employer.

    You don't have to worry about this in the exam, but to find out more, I would speak to inland revenue
