Just one week to go now until the AAT exams. Anyone else nervous?
-What stage is everyone else at?
-Anyone having difficulties on anything?
I don't know how I'm feeling :? I drift in an out of confidence, am not sure how much you have to do to pass

Re:One Week
Hi,
Im sitting my last two technician exams. Im feeling confident, as I have put the revision time in. But Im still nervous, as you never know what will come up.
I just hope I have covered enough of the material to have a go at every question, which I believe to be very important.
Just remember to show your workings, and if you are stuck, we were told, to make an assumption, state why you have used an assumed figure, and use that to answer the question.
Good Luck, try not to worry!!

I'm doing ECR. I feel ok about it actually. I've done all the past exam papers so I'm hoping the exam will be similar... I am stuffed if there's loads on process costing! :shock:0 -

Re:One Week
Marginal
Materials: £316.80 (Batch cost)
Labour: £412.50 "
Variable
o'heads
(197800 / 230) £860.00
Total Cost £1589.30
This does not take into account the fixed overhead element which is the key difference from below
Absorption Costing
Mat £316.80
Lab £412.50
Var o'head £860.00
Fixed o'head
(£278,300 / 230) £1210.00
Total Cost £2799.30
This takes into account fixed o'heads, absorbing them into the cost of a single batch.
Hope that helps

Re:One Week
ohh ok.thats good.i wanna do technician next year im only doin intermediate now..i guess its ok its not hard but its not easy.i find financial FRA easier than ECR but am gona be doing that in June.i heard technician is harddder though even though its less units.0 -
Re:One Week
Yes jdelboy that would be really helpful - thank you very much!0 -
Re:One Week
Lisa
You have 5 exams in technician. Or four exams and a portfolio based assessment, along with the project. It is harder naturally, but the costing unit builds on ECR from intermediate.

Re:One Week
Hi there,
Speaking of ECR!!
In the ECR Jun 06 paper, section 2, task 2.2 precisely, there is one table in which u have to enter sales rev, break even etc.. In finding the break even sales revenue, it is logical to make use of the break even num of batches (3165) and do something with it, but why multiply it with 6??
What's the difference between break even sales rev/num of batches??
Can u check ur June 06 paper n reply soonest. Thanks.0 -
Re:One Week
Hi
Is it possible that you can send me the mock exam with process costing please? My email address is Chantelleac@aol.com
Thank you0 -
Re:One Week
Hi, I dont think we were taught much about process costing, especially the book keeping entries of it. So I'm little frightened about this if it comes up in the ECR exam next week.
Could you please also send me a copy of those mock exam papers for process costing. It may be of use to me. Thanks.

Re:One Week
Hiya
I have got FRA Wednesday too.... Lots of revision today and I have got Tuesday off from work to do more papers.
Not feeling too bad just worried about making a silly mistake.
Also I have real trouble remembering the way to work out margin and margin ...if anyone can help please do!! This is my worst bit for sure.
Cheers and good luck everyone!

Re:One Week
Hi Sarah
Like you I have the FRA on Wednesday and have Tuesday off from work for the final bit of studying.
I am sure you will be allright for the exam - I like you are bit worried about margin, I have memorised cos = 100% when GPM is involved.
Hope this helps, if you want to become a study buddy on Tuesday let me know and will let you have my e-mail address
