Hi
Not sure if this is possible but am due to sit my Exam in a couple of weeks - Unit 5.
I have done the Mock and it was ok.
I have huge trouble with my double entry and find it hard which is dr, which is cr!
Other than DEAD CLIC, does anyone have any idea of an easy way of reminding me.
Everything i use is computerised and day to day i have no trouble at all. I get stuck in exam situations and know im likley to fall when it comes to it.
Many thanks, i'd really appreciate that advice
:)

    Hi Deborah.

The depreciation charge for the year is an expense which goes to your P&L as a debit entry.

The accumulated dep'n reduces the value of the asset on the balance sheet and is a credit entry.

    Re:FRA

Hi, I've never heard of DEAD CLIC before.

    I use PEARLS...

    Purchases, Expenses, Assets = DR
    Revenue, Liabilities, Sales = CR

At the beginning of the exam I write PEA RLS and any other abbreviations/equations at the front of the paper, this way you dont have to keep thinking about them during the exam and you can focus on the answer.

    I remember double entry with.........

    Dr...PEA/RLS...Cr

    Purchases
    Expenses
    Assets
    Revenue
    Liabilities
    Sales

Worked for me, hope it helps you a little.
