Business Tax and Personal Tax

Does anybody know if the Business Tax and Personal Tax papers are marked like all the others i.e. you must pass both sections or are the marks spread overall. What tends to be the average pass mark?

    Must pass in both sections and the overall pass mark is about 65 - 70%

    Can I ask how you know that petrol monkey, when there is no published marking scheme?

    I was told the same thing as petrol monkey by my tutor on my revision course in Reading so he is correct.
    the exams i was told are never based on an average over the two sections, there always marked independantly as if two seperate exams so have to get 65-70% (depending on the average % - so it may fluctuate if a large proportion of people get 60% then the pass mark would be 60%)on each.
    apparantly the pass rates are calculated by a computer after its received all the results.

    Ouch! That seems a bit harsh. I had no idea that we were competing with eachother? So if I don't do too well, I should keep my fingers crossed that everyone else has messed up too?

    Dont worry, I'm a bit stressed as well. Din't do that great on BTC but hoping to scrap through. Just PTC to go now.

    I did BTC on Tuesday, I thought section 2 was easy but section 1 was a nightmare. I've checked the other topics on this and think I've probably done certain things wrong (namely the overlapping profits) and I doubt I was to clever on the theory part neither! I guess it's wait & see.

    I also have PTC on Friday, surely it must be easier than BTC.
