Hi Gal.
It says in YOUR workplace.
Walk round and check everything!
Look at electrics, furniture, lighting, flooring, doors / doorways, etc.

Re:Help for Newbie Unit 22 Health and Safethy Project
I bypassed doing the workplace audit when doing my H&S project a couple of years ago on the grounds that it wasn't up to me to tell our superbly qualified H&S director what he was doing wrong. Instead, I used a recent office risk assessment as evidence of compliance and that I was aware of the current legislation. It was a case of "this is all you're getting and that's it".
I suppose you could use a "what if" scenario for your own workplace, i.e. if there were trailing cables what would you do to reduce or eliminate the hazard? Re-site the equipment or use shorter cables etc...

If you are able to assess your workplace as being compliant, by the same token you must be able to see what would be deemed to cause a risk?
Tripping is a favourite - boxes, cables, bags etc.

Re:Help for Newbie Unit 22 Health and Safethy Project
We have a Health and Safety department at my workplace so we comply religiously with everything to do with Health and Safety so when i did my project i just made everything up!0 -
Re:Help for Newbie Unit 22 Health and Safethy Project
When I did my health and safety, I was at the other place of work - wow was that health and safety exempt or what - and by that I mean there was no health and safety!
Boxes were all over, stacked high, bulging filing cabinets, over-charged electrcitiy supplies, faulty alarm system (didn't work on floor 2 for 3 weeks!)
loose wires, clutter, filing cabinets left open...
I hated the health and safety aspect of the course, I'm glad it's signed off.0 -

Re:Help for Newbie Unit 22 Health and Safethy Project
Best thing, that's essentially what I did (see above!)
After all, they don't make Health & Safety managers take a brief accountants course do they in order to qualify?
