Hi
Could anyone give their advice on how much i should charge, i currently work fulltime for a company doing there accounts, and have been asked by another local firm if i would do there accounts for a couple of hours on a saturday, i dont mind this but i dont want to undersell myself, and as yet i am not quite sure if it will be on the books or if i have to invoice them, there is a chance they will be expanding so i was thinking of charging by the hour in case one week has more work than another. I am a fully qualified accounting technician.
Any advice on how much an hour or any other info that would benefit me would be greatful
Thanks in advance

Re:Advice Please
I charge £20/hr for bookkeeping, VAT & payroll and £30/hr for accounts and tax returns. The market rate is often dependent on the area where you are.0 -
Re:Advice Please
Don't forget to register with HMRC as s/employed (or will you be an employee?).
If s/e then you will also need PI cover as well; and you will need to complete a tax return

Re:Advice Please
I think I have been grossly undercharging
My fees are £15 per hour, however the majority of my clients require sage book keeping (usually on their premises) and the VAT is charged in with the hourly rate.
Do you think I should start charging separately for VAT?

Re:Advice Please
That's only £12.76 per hour ex VAT - put your rates up
