Has anyone sat this skills test? How did you find it?

    I sat it about 10 months ago. It was long but very straight forward. No nausty bits. If I recall correctly, there was a cash flow question to start with, then about 7 questions all involving writing memo, emails, letters, report, about credit control and investments (or something like that) and then a really weird multiple choice question at the end that I did not have a clue about. I guessed the last question and must have been right because I passed first time. Beware though, you have four hours for this skills test and boy do you need it if you are a slow writer like me.

    Don't worry too much though it is long but easy.

    Thanks for your reply. I have now passed this unit and have enrolled for the final year! I am studying the Diploma; we have to sit this during the second year. The skills test was ok and yes, there was a lot writing.

    I did this in December and used all the allocated time. This was by far the most long winded exam I have sat to date with so much report writing, memos, scenarios etc...

    Thank God it's now out of the way but I pity those who still have to take it! Having said that, for those working in industry or retail, this could be one of the most useful modules you will ever take. I've already used quite a bit of what I learnt from this and put it into practice.

    Funny how this thread is on the Intermediate forum though since I think this is generally considered a Technician stage module?

    A friend of mine is doing AAT Diploma route and I think with the diploma, you may sit this at Intermediate?

    I thought she'd got it wrong, but now it's on here too....

    Yes,Diploma students have to sit unit 15 during the Intermediate/Advanced certificate stage.

    Thanks for your pity Robert, I'm sitting this in a couple of weeks and not looking forward to it.
