Re:Summer
Ah i just can't wait for that now! Hate having to wear my coat to work. You've distracted me from work now, thinking of drinking a nice cold beer in the hot weather0 -
Re:Summer
What's wrong with winter - warm, cosy evenings indoors or freezing cold rain in your face when you're out running (for pleasure!).
Must admit I don't like walking to work in the dark - but then I do start at the crack of dawn!

Re:Summer
But you have to be at a country pub with a cold beer, in the beer garden or it just isnt the same!0 -
Re:Summer
I want to go to the beach
which reminds me I have to buy a new bikini
Last summer I was in a beer garden with my boyfriend and a wasp kept crawling up his nose
it was that cider that everyone seems to like that comes in the massive bottle0 -
Re:Summer
Magners?0 -
Re:Summer
Ahh yes, sitting in the garden withcricket on the radio, a large Pimms and my laptop, pretending to work.
Can't stand cider despite being a westcountry boy - all tastes like sour apple juice to me.

Re:Summer
Bulmers?
lol they both became really popular last yr didnt they?
All i drank in summer last yr was Quinns (alcohol made purely from fruit) it is really refreshing on a hot day and you can pretend its good for you!

Re:Summer
Yes Magners!
I love quinns
You can't taste the alcohol at all, I can just drink it like water
Although I'm not old enough to drink...

Re:Summer
Ah yes, the summer. Be it in my own back yard or in a beer garden with a pint of ice cold Guinness, pure bliss.
Also it means I get to go to work in the daylight both ways, woohoo!!0 -

Re:Summer
Welcome to the forums by the way DAW1986 (don't tell me, is that your initials and year of birth or are you just an android?)
I remember tutor glares many years ago, never to be forgotten.
Gone are the days when summers were long and hot and winters were very cold. The summer of '76, the stuff of legends!!

Re:Summer
Summer of 76 - remember it well - and the winter of 76/77 or was it 77/78 - we were snowed in for 2 weeks with snowdrifts above the hedgerows - absolutely brilliant no school!
Malcolm - you are probably the only one as old as me, but do you remember the power strikes in the 70s? Hubby and I were talking about it the other day, and neither of us remember them  and we should do.

Re:Summer
Can we get back to the topic in question and stop going on about ages?
You're only as old as...sorry, memory's gone!0 -
Re:Summer
My parents got engaged in Summer '77. (I wasn't born for another six years)
Actually, my Dad was born in the February of '47, which apparently was one of the worst winters of the century.
GJP are my initials (the J stands for Jenius), but I can't remember where 104 comes from. I think it was my membership number for a club or gym or something.0 -
Re:Summer
Now to make me really old - and to get back to the original question - I want a really hot May, as we are having a party for our 20th wedding anniversary

Congratulations you - an achievement to be proud of.

Re:Summer
Thanks Annette - I feel really proud of it - it hasn't been easy at times. If nothing else, it proves all the "you're too young to get married, it will never last" people wrong!!!!
After all I was only 22 at the time.
