Hi I have just failed PTC again!! Its my last unit to complete AAT, does anyone know if you can do the exam at any other time than June or December? Also how does this affect my other exam already taken?

    Re:PTC Exam

You can only take Dec and June. It only affects as far I know the PTC exam, as the rates obviously change from one year to the next.

Which parts do you find you struggle on?

really dont know, I know i messed up big time on the shares this time round but other than that I felt I did ok. Obviously I dont now which section I failed this time until the post arrives, First of all I got a blank email and then another one saying unsuccessful so maybe they made a mistake! Wishful thinking hey

I am sorry to hear that you have failed the PTC exam.

Unfortunately, you can only do the exam in December and June.

I know this suggestion is a little off the point, but have you considered doing one of the devolved assessments instead so that you can complete AAT? (I appreciate that you may need tax to get exemptions if you are carrying on, but if you are just interested in passing AAT it may be worth some consideration

    Re:PTC Exam

Hi there, i have just failed the PTC exam and its the last one I need to finish the course. What other options have I got to finish it? I was looking at the implementing auditing procedures as the second of the four that must be taken. It says its a skills test but I have 3 skills tests already done including the project. Is four skills tests and 3 exams allowed? Thanks

    Re:PTC Exam

That's a coincidence, I've just failed my PTC exam as well. Maybe the AAT have marked them all wrong, I was convinced that I had passed it due to the exam being so easy.
I have emailed the AAT asking how to appeal against the decision and it's going to cost £40 to be looked at again.
Fortunatly I have another 3 exams in June, so I'm just going to resit it again then.
My wife just called and said I failed on Section 2 of the paper.

Hi Seasider. Yes, you can take the Auditing assessment instead of PTC and you will qualify if you pass it.
I took it instead of BTC.

Hi thanks for the reply. Does it matter the amount of skills tests to exams you take as I will of only took 3 exams? Thanks again

    Re:PTC Exam

It doesn't matter how many skills tests you take as long as you pass a mixture of the 3 core exams (PCR, PEV and DFS) and 2 of the 4 choices (PTC, BTC, Cash Management and Auditing). And of course the project!
I have now qualified, having passed PCR, PEV, DFS, PTC and Auditing, along with the project.

    Re:PTC Exam

I have to say Auditing is very boring but the skills test is really about common sense. As long as you read up about it (we had photocopied pages of the FTC book as we had no choice about taking it and didn't want to spend more), you should be fine!
You're normally given a couple of scenarios and have to write about how you would react to each thing and IIRC you have examples of procedures in a company and have to say what is good and bad about them, stuff like that.
    I hope this helps!
