Ok so I have finally passed my technician exams and I'm so happy I want to cry!! It has been a long hard slog but I can finally see the light!! I started once I gave birth to my daughter back in 2004 and leaving her most evenings was so hard but she was my insperation to carry on! An would strongly recomend to all if I can do it you can too! I am by far intelligent which is probably why I found it a struggle, it took me 2 attempts on all technician level exams to pass! And feel we should all be rewarded with a graduation day! I mean how many people have NVQ level 4 for example an electrician is qualified after level 3 to me in my opinion level 4 is just short of a degree! Does the AAT offer a "graduation day" I have seen notes on here about this does it still happen?
If not I would recomend that one is put in place!!! I am living in London so if anyone has info on if when and where this happens would be so much appreciated. That day would be mainly for my parents as bless there cotton socks are so proud of me and to be honest so am I! More so when my dad saved £350 in accountancy fees this year when I done his tax return! All news regarding this is welcome!!! If not and your still studying keep at it as it will be well worth it in the end! You gain so much respect from employers when your qualified it's funny really! I have my first private job and when someone else called me an accountant for the first time I got a warm fuzzy giddy feeling in my stomach. It's so worth it no matter what results you get or what life throws at you, pick yourself up dust yourself off and get your nose in a book and prepare for an exam!! and to all thoughs who have finalised congratulations and if there is a graduation day I hope to see you there!!!

Well done Caroline!
I qualified last summer so I know just how you are feeling - marvelous isn't it.
The AAT will write to you with an application to become a full member and then will invite you to a ceremony. To be honest I didn't go to mine because I had too many things on the go at the time but I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.
Congratulations once again.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! There is hope for me yet. i have just received my PEV and PCR results and I failed them both (1st attempt). I have got 2 small children (one who started school) so i am up to my eyes, but I will be resitting them both in June. But well done you!!0 -
Re:Now it's all over is there a "graduation day?"
Well done! It took me longer started September 2003, but I'm through as well.
Bit confused when you say "in my opinion level 4 is just short of a degree!" as we have been assured it is a foundation degree.
My college in Coventry holds a graduation day in September (soooo far away), I am so happy as I never went to uni and will be graduating for the first time at the age of 28 (by then).
It might be worth looking into whether somewhere near you (like the centre you took your exams at) holds one too.
Congrats!0 -
Re:Now it's all over is there a "graduation day?"
Our college is holding a graduation ceremony in March, I am not particularly bothered, but I have invited my parents. They are very excited because I didn't graduate first time around when I dropped out of university, so at the age of 31 I have my parents coming!!0 -

WOW i didnt even know you could get a graduation or ceromony day - i think its great, why not have some sort of acknowledgement of all the hard work put in - i know we get our certificates but to actually be recognised in a formal setting amoung people i think is a must.
im going to check out my college to see if they do something like it - i would definatley go, for me because ill be so proud of myself, for my mum, she has been absolutley wonderful staying over 3 days every week to look after the kids, and for the kids, coz they are who ive done it for!!!!0 -

Re:Now it's all over is there a "graduation day?"
Hi
The AAT have award ceremonies in October / November.
These are for students who have passed AAT, Accepted Members and long term members.
You should get an invite in about September time.
These are held all over the country but places do get taken quick so you have reply by return to ensure a place.
Unfortunatly if all same as last year you are only able to invite one guest.
Hope this helps
