Hi everyone,
Just failed these two exams and thought i would just scrape through. I just cant get my head around how to understand these subjects. I failed both parts of the PCR and the CGT section of PTC. Does anyone have any detailed notes or diagrams or anything that may help me? I have DFS and PEV in June and seem to be struggling with these too, so any notes on these also would be much appreciated,
Many Thanks
Sarah-Lou

I passed PEV but haven't taken or studied PCR.
Do you know what the problem area was with PEV?

Re:Help needed understanding PTC and PCR
pretty much the variances
i have a mental block where job costing is concerned
I have some really good notes but getting it to stick in my head is hard

Re:Help needed understanding PTC and PCR
When I reached variances, I didn't go any further until I had learned them - how to calculate them and what they meant.
There didn't seem any point in proceeding to the next chapters, but having to refer back to the definitions to answer subsequent questions.
I worked out a way of learning them. Every day I would write them out at least a couple of times until it was second nature.
Best tip I had from another Forum member was, at the beginning of the exam during reading time, write out the variances before you do anything else.
Then, when you get to the relevant question you have them listed clearly and you aren't put off by the question itself.

Thanks for the link but unfortunatley it wont let me access them. They look like they're going to be really thorough notes aswell! Is it possible for you to send them any other way to me? My email address is sarahlou2902@hotmail.co.uk
Thanks in advance,

Re:Help needed understanding PTC and PCR
Which College do you go to sarah lou?
Baggybooks why have you decided to do a tax option? im just wondering cus im not sure weather it will help in the future. I had decided to do audit and cash management else ill be doing a exam a day in june

Re:Help needed understanding PTC and PCR
I'm choosing a tax option because I already have some experience that I'm hoping will help.
I sort out Tax queries at work so it would be nice to have some extra knowledge.
But because I'm not really studying to help me at work, I went with options I thought I might like to do.

I can certainly understand! I don't do 9-5 either.
Luckily, I enjoy being busy.
