To fast track or not.....

Was wondering if anyone could give me some advice, this has probably been asked before but, I have finished foundation and going on to do intermediate next month. There are two options, I can either do the fast track (i.e. both exams in June) or do it over a year one exam in June and the other exam in Dec. Just wondering how other people decided whether they were competent enough to do both within 6 months. I will be doing an evening course. How difficult are the exams compared to the foundation? as is hard to judge whether I will find it difficult or not without actually having had any classes yet! I had a look at a couple of the past exam papers but still not sure.....
Thanks!

I did both exams together. It really depends on how much time you can devote to the course.

I did both together in December and studied at home. It's worth a shot because if you fail one in June you can still re-take it in December.

The exams will look difficult now, but once you've learnt all the stuff they will be no more difficult than the Foundation exam (well maybe just a little).

I think you should go for it.

Yes - totally agree about the level of difficulty. You'll be studying to cover the topics so don't peek at the papers before then!

    Good luck!

You could choose the fast-track route and if you feel that later you've taken on too much you can always drop one unit and carry on with it in September. A few people in my class did this.

Do both in June, i just did both and passed both. They were not significantly difficult although fitting 2 exams in 3 days was a little bit stressful. Worth doing it anyhow.

    Re:To fast track or not.....

Hi, I have just passed my foundation and started my intermediate three weeks ago home study. I intend to sit both ECR and FRA in June but if I start to find that I have taken on too much I will just sit one exam in June.
Exam entries do not have to be in until 15th April (probably a little later if done on line) so I guess if I start to fall behind my set timetable I will do the second one in December.
I think it all depends how hard you are willing to push yourself but personally I am enjoying the course(sad - I know) so hopefully I can keep up the pace :?

    Hi Frodobagins

I am in exactly the same boat, i too am doing fast track and was deciding weather to do the 2 exams in June, but i think that i would rather take my time over it and understand it better, rather than rushing through it!

like I did the whole of foundation in only 10 lessons, and although I passed the PLB exam, i actually feel like i havent learnt much because it was all so rushed - i know that may not make sense!!
