I went on eBay at lunch, and bought:
A GUITAR, PLECTRUMS, GUITAR STAND, LEARN HOW TO PLAY THE GUITAR BOOK AND DVD AND SOME SPARE GUITAR STRINGS. Only cost £80 in total
I'll send you free signed albums when I release them for the Xmas #1 slot.
What has anyone else done on spur of the moment lately?

Jees, I was expecting mine to be super fantastic but you just won the competition in the 2nd post!
Good on you fella, it's nice getting a card for Fiancee rather than just girlfriend... just make sure you get the Fiancee card though... and not Fiance.
You may get look at a little strange!

Doesn't have that same 'ring' to it as proposing on a beach in Spain, though does it?

Hopefully not a carrier bag full of scraps of paper stuck together with God knows what.
I left practice because all I wanted to do was shred the stuff.
I do not have the patience.

I did almost exactly the same thing a couple of months back. I've been trying to play the guitar and come to a disappointing conclusion: I suck. Really, really badly. I'm awful, and not in a good way (eg awe-inspiring). I'm not sure what it is, but I just can't do anything musical.
I keep having another go, but its very disheartening. I wish I hadn't told my friends I was taking it up now.0 -

took me two years to become any where near competent0 -

Spur of the moment - doing this AAT thing... No really, I thought a bit before signing up!
As for guitar, my brother http://www.tristanseume.co.uk/ got all the musical genes in our family. He took up guitar for want of anything else to do while the rmoval people were packing up our house 14 years ago. He got quite good - check out the samples page and click on Ghost Train.0
