Part qualified - should I do ABC?

Over 4 years ago I studied AAT via open learning via my local college - I completed part intermediate and part technician, I know exactly what I need to do to qualify as I've spoken with AAT. I've looked into returning to my studies but my college no longer runs the open learning, so my options are to study from home via another distance learning provider (and try and fund myself - not really possible as I'm a single parent on a low income) or wait until September and study at college and hopefully receive some help with funding.

As I am keen to get back to my studying, I am considering doing the AAT ABC course or the IAB course. At least then I would have a qualification for what I have been doing part time for the last 7 years!

The business I am currently employed in is not doing well financially and I'm worried that my AAT intermediate and technician plans will be halted again in September if I have to get another job, which may not fit in with college days. It also doesn't help that my employers are not in a position to help with AAT funding in my opinion. However, I may be able to persuade them to fund the ABC course or the IAB course which I can start right away.

Do you think it's worth me doing either of these courses? Do employers recognise them? I work in a small business doing admin and book keeping.

Also, can anyone recommend a distance learning provider for the ABC course?

    Hi Cath.

I think the ABC is too low a qualification for you.
