hi Im just about to change from spreadsheets to sage instants ive been told you have to reverse the wage journal each month before you put the new one in also im waiting for the accountant to give me a balance sheet so i can put o/b on whilst im waiting can i be inputting info or should i wait to put o/bs on first if someone could help with these 2 questions would be most grateful.Can anyone show me the wage journal and reverse journal

    can only help with journals
    Cr: Net wage
    Cr: Any CSA / pensions etc
    Cr: Insurance (both employee and employer) & tax

    Hi Tracy

    the Journal for Wage can be

    DR Gross wages
    DR Employer NI
    CR PAYE
    CR Employee's NI
    CR Net wages
    CR Any futher deductions or over(under) paid employee last month

    If there are anythings else that I can help with wages please let me know

    reverse journal

    I do not understand why do you need to reverse the journal.....?

    you only have to do one journal for the wages each month

    The only journal you might have to reverse is last years month 12 journal. The accountant will have had to put that on to tie up all the wages so it may still be showing in this financial year. If it's not showing then you don't have to reverse anything. You would only need to reverse monthly journals if you do monthly periods.

    Yes Tracy you can be inputting data before you get o/b's from the accountant. Just remember to date the o/b's correctly when you get balance sheet. Were you not given instruction book, it explains all this when you set up your system?
