    Hello Tracy,

Not too sure about the question, but a very quick way of 'converting' a pdf file into something you can view in Word is to use the snapshot/camera function on the toolbar. This will copy an area or image you select to the clipboard which you can paste into Word or another programme or document. You can't edit it, but that's why files are usually converetd to pdf's to begin with.

However, you can copy text in an editable format by clicking the select tab next to the camera, then highlighting the area you want to copy. Press ctrl+C on the keyboard to copy to clipboard then ctrl+V to paste it into a document.

There are probably other and easier ways but these are how I do them!

Surprised you aren't allowed to download Adobe Reader at work since it's a universally accepted pdf programme and usually a cornerstone component of any computer software system.

    Regards,

    Robert

winzip I can understand - there are a few nasties held up in zip files that when extracted can much away at your hard drive.

PDF though, well - it's a fundamental piece of software for a business!

Unless you have OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software and OCR scanner you will have to follow Rob's way of converting the file. Which to be honest doesn't take that long.

There's quite a few pdf -> word programs around most have trial versions for download. There's a few links here http://www.onlinejobcareer.com/pdf.htm though I can't say much for the quality of the English on display there apart from its amusement value.

Being the good boy that I am, I won't mention that it's probably pretty easy to get a non-kosher version of the full Acrobat program of the web.

To echo Robert and Jamie about Adobe Reader, pretty essential I'd have thought.
