Re:Study Buddy
Have you taken into account the scrapping of the 10% starting rate and the new homo sapien CO2 emmissions tax being introduced next year? Taxed with every bloody breath we take. Gordon Brown - being Scottish and therefore naturally unwilling to part with anything - should be okay though I do hope he holds it a little too long one day.19051984 wrote:I think it works out that at the moment, I get an extra ΓΒ£45 a month... that's just me changing the PAYE and NI from 22% to 20%

Re:Study Buddy
Call me evil, but maybe Gordon Brown will get mangled by a 4 by 4. That would be a shame.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
It's pretty much as you were for me - gain in income tax is pretty much offset by fags going up.
I don't feel any sympathy for the Chelsea tractor brigade anymore than I'd expect any for the tax I pay on ciggies.0 -

Oh and there's bad news for Robert. Tax on gas guzzlers is going up to ΓΒ£300. ΓΒ£400 next year.
But we need our 4x4 for when we get snowed in and when we have floods and to pull our horses around
They're not taking into account rural parts of the country.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Rah and good morning! To you all.

Re:Study Buddy
Morning Bryony - Morning Malcolm.
PS, Malcolm - you're a fella like me, it's part of the package of being a man.... being blamed for all sorts.

Re:Study Buddy
Ironic that we now spend so much on child education while juvenile stabbings and crime are increasing alarmingly.
Ironic that we spend so much on counter terrorism while we are an unwelcome, occupying force in two countries halfway round the globe.
Ironic that the government introduces anti-pollution and climate legislation while it invests in Typhoon Eurofighters, Challenger tanks and talks of massive investment in a new nuclear missile system.
Ironic that we used to silently mock America in the 70's and 80's over its Vietnam failure and now we have two of our own...

Oh dear. It's going to be a depressing day on here, isn't it?

Re:Study Buddy
On a lighter note, I've done your MP3 DVD Paul and will send it out to you today!

Re:Study Buddy
Morning J - that's true enough!
Helen, it will only be depressing if you guys allow it to get that way.
Let's all be happy bunnies

Re:Study Buddy
What MP3 DVD?
EDIT:: You know you're a geek when you ask someone about something purely because it has techno-babble acronyms....
PS, I think it's acronym (MP3 and DVD) but no doubt someone will tell me otherwise...0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Nice one Rob. Cheers!0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Morning everyone.
How do I work out what I will save/lose from the new 20% tax thing? I haven't done the personal tax module yet. :P0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I wouldn't worry - you've got 12 months to wait.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Does anyone know if there is an online calculator somewhere that takes into consideration your tax code?0 -
Re:Study Buddy

Although they aren't tax calculators, you can easily see what the changes mean to your personal situation.

Re:Study Buddy
Could I ask you all a favour?
Can you let me know if your visits to the Forum have improved since earlier this week?
They're now pointing back to a sole server so hopefully things like load times and the like should be back to normal levels.
If you're still having issues, let me know either on here, PM or e-mail.
Sorry if the forums have been bugging you lately.0 -
Re:Study Buddy

Re:Study BuddyMalcolm wrote:Can you let me know if your visits to the Forum have improved since earlier this week?
In a word - No! Still painfully slow, new posts aren't changing from blue/yellow/blue properly.
My Avatar reverted to an old one earlier today and the whole site is very, very slow.
I don't think the email alerts was working properly earlier, either.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Hi Malcolm,
It seems to be fine for me.

Re:Study Buddy
Also, when I posted my previous post, it went on fine, but then I returned to the site to see that another post has popped up ahead of it.0
