I have recently passed the AAT Technician course - and have 3 years experience of working in Accounts Assistants roles for two Ltd Company.
What I really want to do is start working for an accounting practice - doing either Audit or Tax! And hopefully to start either ACA or ACCA!
How would I get a job like this? I have no proper work experience in an accountants - Except my AAT course and a few Tax returns I have been doing for a friend of mine working in an Accountants.
Any advice will be much appreiated!

I would contact a few agencies as a start off - though agencies want to get you into a job as fast as they can so they can earn their commission so as you don't currently work in practice this may be a stumbling block but one which I wouldn't worry too much about.
I was in exactly your position a few years ago and got a job in practice where they funded my ACCA. It was through an agency I had registered with but never heard anything and then they came up with my job.
The advantage you have is that you have experience already albeit minimal, it is still experience. You have also completed AAT which also works well in your favour.
If the agencies fail you, try going on various accountancy practices websites and seeing if there are vacancies or circularise your CV to a few of these (email is a fantastic way of doing this and cheaper). If you can, contact a few practices by telephone. Ask your friends workplace if they know of any vacancies.
These are a good source of finding vacancies. The problem with practice vacancies (especially in the larger firms) is that they can be like gold dust. Every graduate student wants a training contract and some firms have CVs for potential trainees coming out of their ears but it is not impossible at all.
Good luck in your search.
Kind regards
Steve
