Helen's blushing again!!!! Afternoon all, this working lark is interferring with my socalising.
It's still foggy, can't see the big plane and I've got to find 53p.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I've got some change you can have.
Working may affect socialising, but perhaps not our dreams in life.0 -

Must be catching... if anyone remembers I had a problem with my Dell printer last week? Well they eventually exchanged it for a new one on Friday but left the old unit here, awaiting collection. It's still sitting here, bang in the middle of my office floor today, the size of a small car and weighing almost as much.
So I called Dell customer service/technical support over in Asia and told them I wanted it collected without further delay. Forty minutes later we're no further along then when I started out, having been passed around all over the place. Anyone who's ever had a long conversation with a foreign call centre, wasting time and money, will understand this barely controllable rage.
So I've now raised an invoice to Dell UK in Bracknell for ΓΒ£100+VAT with the threat of legal action if they ignore it or don't pay. I tried calling them up but they told me I'm not allowed to speak to anyone in the UK!
Nice service!
Robert

Re:Study Buddy
I've already received an email complaining about it!
I didn't mean it nastily - I meant that Robert tells us so much, I can't really keep up with it all.
But hands up everyone who had forgotten?0 -
Re:Study BuddyRuskii wrote:Ehh .. how did they work out your hourly wage then from your salary ? Surely it's just salary divided by 52 diveded by how many hours you do a week ?! That's how we've always worked it out here.
You'd think, wouldn't you. But there aren't exactly 52 weeks in a year, and I'm at college one day a week during term time... so its based on a strange number of hours per year. 52 weeks Γβ 40 hours/week would be too simple!Just as well your leaving, are you going onto something similar or just leaving as it's time to get out ?
After a fashion. I'd been planning to go to uni after the AAT since about this time last year. I had planned to work through to mid-August and have a few weeks off before uni in early September. But owing to a number of factors- the deciding one being that I wouldn't be allowed any time off for exams*- I'm leaving before the exams and doing short-term contract work over the summer.
*Seriously- other people have priority over me for time off, so I only get the mornings of my exams- DFS, PTC and BTC.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I only get the time off for the actual exams too.

Re:Study Buddy
Do we know anyone in the industry...?
Sorry - my mistake, fro-licking is what I meant to say.
Might be a local saying!

Re:Study BuddyPeople in glass houses etc...
About four years ago, I was hiking with some friends in the wilds of North Yorkshire, and our route took us through a village called Glasshouses.
So, we went up to some local kids and asked if they lived in the village. When they said yes, we told them not to throw any stones.
They were not impressed. I think they had gotten tired of that joke...0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Morning all - up early invoicing for hubbie again! Thought i'd catch up on yesterdays gossip at home as no internet access at work yesterday
Glasshouses? Don't know about wild, its in a lovely part of Nidderdale quite near to where I live. Now did you also discover Crackpot over in Swaledale? Wouldn't fancy upsetting the locals there!
