In an age when the television is plagued by reality TV and such rubbish, it is hard to find good television programs. Does anyone have any favourite shows/ series etc

I have to say I loved Skins on E4, and watch Lost on Sky One (not really a big fan though) and Prison Break on C5.

Just stopped watching 24, got bored after season 4

Other than that I only really watch sport, and the timeless re- runs of Friends

    Desperate Housewives, Sex and the City, Family Guy and House are all guilty pleasures for me! :lol:

    Life on Mars, mainly because that is exactly how I remember Manchester when I lived there. And.....I admire the forthright but basically honest attitude to life of Gene Hunt. A real man!

    I tend to watch more DVDs of TV Shows than the shows when they are actually on. Mainly animated comedies- Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy etc- regular comedies- Frasier, Friends, etc or Science Fiction- the original Outer Limits, pre-Sylvester McCoy Dr Who, X Files, Babylon 5, etc.

    I do like Sex and the City (mmm... Kristin Davis) and Desperate Housewives (mmm... Eva Longoria) though.

    Numbers, CSI, Spooks, Hotel Babylon, Northern/City Lights, Match of the Day, Sky Sports (Football), Prison Break, LOST (currently on Episode 15 of Series 3)... tis about it, I watch discovery sometimes.

    Scrubs, Life on mars and quite bizarrely Smallville is starting to get my attention - I know it is rubbish, but quite compelling rubbish.

    CSI I can agree with Jamie but Number3? I don't think I've ever seen such a load of old tosh, easily the worst of the crime crop from the USA! Why doesn't he use that amazing numbers talent to predict the sodding winning lotto numbers? Next they'll have Mystic Meg catching serial killers while showing us how to boil an omelette.

    Apart from CSI, I did watch Lewis when it was on a few weeks ago, Catherine Tate and... well, that's about it really. Maybe the occasional movie if it's good enough. Can't stand reality TV or twenty four episodes of essentially the same story repeated endlessly through series one, series two, series three etc.

    The West Wing is the only thing I set the video for.

    Even the repeats are fun. Total fantasy, but who cares?

    CSI is the best thing on TV, followed by Prison Break (Wentworth Miller - now I'm dribbling....), House and Life on Mars is good, I have 182 million channels on the TV but only seem to watch Channel 5 :?

    I must say I like the idea of CSI Emmerdale.

    Don't watch a lot of telly but I too like CSI. NCIS is another favourite at the mo

    I agree with Chris, this sounds like an awesome programme. CSI's with Ecky Thump accents. Certainly have more work on their hands than those US investigators, what with plane crashes, suspicious explosions, the internet fraud and old Tom King's recent murder.

    To all those who watch CSI, which one's your fave? Vegas, Miami or New York? Grissom, Horatio or Mac?

    I have a mixture of favourite CSI cast - I would like to see Sarah from Vegas switched with Kelly Du-Cane, and I'd like to have Horatio killed... he only knows how to stand in one way - looking at the ground with his shades on and his hands on his hips! Infact, Miami cast rules but needs Warwick and Grissom to make it uber awesome.
    Prison Break got me... I watched a few episodes from the begninning then I didn't watch it for some reason, then I caught episodes here and there and saw the one where they escaped and from there told myself I would watch it as it's like a new series; them breaking out. Now I watch it avidly.

    Anyone see the CSI Last night? The one they were following to the game?

    I have tried to watch CSI, but doesnt anyone else find it annoying, when they slow things down or zoom in to explain something really simple? :? They seem to do that a lot, as though they assume you wouldnt understand without the effects!

    I watch all the CSI's. "H" is just so cool, hahaha, he is so compassionate. Gris is the intellectual but now is more human as he has hooked up with Sara and Mac is more to the point. I do like Don Flack (the detective) in New York but only because he is a pretty boy. I believe the effects Paul are for that - effect! It adds to the investigation and forensic side of stuff, well it does for me :lol:

    Life on Mars and Doctor Who are must see or record at the moment.

    I quite like The Apprentice (yes, it's reality but quite funny at times)

    I visit UK TV a lot to see old episodes of One Foot In The Grave, Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em and older Doctor Who (Pertwee and Baker are my 'growing up' favourites)

    Star Trek Next Gen, X Files, The Simpsons and I'm also partial to Holby City for some reason.

    Never seen a CSI.

    I'm definitely a Grissom sort of guy. Horatio irritates me with the amount of times he puts on and takes off his sunglasses and the way he cocks his head to one side when he's doing his nausea inducing 'senstive' bit. I've never really taken to the NY one so it it's a case of original and best for me.

    Never been much of a Star Trek fan though I did get into DS9 at one point. Mainly due to the fact they ripped off Babylon 5 which is still the best SF series ever.
