Re:Study Buddy
But it's in the imagination, RaeRae.
I wouldn't want to see too much of the real thing either!

Re:Study Buddy
In all fairness, I wouldn't want to see me in a thong either. Which is why I don't.
I do think that the full King Richard Couer de Leon-era crusader kit looks pretty good on me though. Maybe I'll get a photo and finally give myself an avatar.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Oh yes!
That would be the best one ever.

Re:Study Buddy
Yeah go on Graham, that sounds good. I would like to see you dressed up in that kit. Maybe Helen could dress up as a wench???0 -

Sorry - I still haven't had the chastity belt re-welded.
Better not wear it until it's safe!

Re:Study Buddy
Hopefully, Robert was able to get his teeth fixed.
I found it all very embarrassing and not something I would have expected from the Buddies.
But I suppose he was egged on by J - and you know only too well what he can be like.
You live and learn - just shows that you can't be too complacent about these guys.

Re:Study BuddyI think you'll find that the first is fairly common and has been around for years.
So I actually don't have any right to complain when my Managing Director picks up my personal mobile phone and starts going through the text messages? I'm glad I don't leave anything too private around after the first time he did it.
It's just part of his motivation-through-fear-and-control mindset. I can't get past the idea that he's trying to take advantage of me with this suddenly imposed contract. The MD destroyed all the respect I had for him about 18 months ago, and its very difficult to work for someone you don't respect.0 -

Another post that makes me glad to be self-employed

Of course the MD can't pick up your phone and go through the text messages unless it's actually a company phone itself. We're talking about the theft of physical company property here and searches of things like coat pockets, bags and cars. Nearly all employers reserve this right and it should be written into each and every employee contract. While it may sound intrusive I've never seen it enforced without very good reason.

Re:Study BuddyNearly all employers reserve this right and it should be written into each and every employee contract.
And if its tied to protection of company property, then it's totally reasonable. If they actively suspect you are actually stealing company property, even more so. If it was random checks, then I could understand it, too.
I guess it goes back to the respect thing. I don't trust or respect my MD enough to believe he wouldn't use this clause as justification to snoop around our personal posessions.
And yes, he really did do the mobile phone text message thing.0 -

Re:Study Buddy
Maybe it could be extended to search people's homes and give managers power of arrest, interrogation and imprisonment. I think actual physical torture might be going too far but should be written into contracts just in case.blobbyh wrote:We're talking about the theft of physical company property here and searches of things like coat pockets, bags and cars.
Robert
Good way to get your staff happy and motivated though, sniff around in their private property every time a paper clip goes missing.0 -
