Re:ACA training
Hi
I am training with a top 10 firm. I think you will find out that with some training firms, they will allow you to do the fast track i.e finish ACA in 2 years instead of the normal 3. With other firms they will not allow you to do that and you will have to do the normal 3 years so it might be a good idea at the interview to check what the company policy is on that.
I have been told that the benefits of doing the full ACA instead of the top ups is that you will benefit from the extra knowledge gained which you will need in the later papers.
Other benefits we get - full study support i.e company pays for tuition, exams, paid study leave, ICAEW membership fees.
Also, there is the opportunity to move around i.e secondments to areas such as Corporate Finance, etc + greater career development opportunities.

Re:ACA training
If you have the choice(!) go for whichever firm will provide you with full study support and has other students studying for ACA at the same time.
I studied with a smallish mid-tier firm (25 or so employees in the firm) with always a couple of trainees at each stage of AAT/ACA/ACCA.
You need to make sure they pay for everything, give you sufficient time off - 12 weeks per annum on full-time training courses is standard. It also helps to have other trainees to turn to for advice.
I have also worked for smaller firms who have had ACA trainees and to be honest I think they got a raw deal. Didn't get given much study leave, also received less holiday than everyone else and only got home study support.
Every employer is different so make sure you ask about the study package at the interview stage.
Good luck!0
