Hi there, does anyone have a snapshot list of the key things we need to know about all the IAS's? There seems so much to remember and I'm struggling to remember aa the detail with the numbers!!

If anyone has anything that might help please could you email me

    As for detail I cannot help.

    But as for remember the names and the numbers, I found that doing sets of flash cards really helped.

    You do one set with the numbers on and another set with the names on and then try to match them up.

    It only took a couple of hours and now they are well and truly plumbed into my miniscule brain. :)

    I quite like the IAS document "IAS in your pocket", published by Deloitte and availible online as a download at iasplus.com. The summaries of the IAS/IFRS are somewhere in the middle- its not as big as it looks.

    The new edition is out today!

    Hey

    I was told at college that it doesn't matter if you dont know all the numbers as long as you know that content. I am finding it hard to remember the numbers too but i can reel of a whole splurge of information on one if you give me the name and i suppose thats all that counts.

    Hi there is a great website called www.iasb.org, when you go onto it click on ‘summaries of international financial reporting standards’ on the left hand side. It will then show you subheadings saying Framework summary and IFRS & IAS Summaries. I found this very helpful.

    But also remember they will only examine you on one in the whole exam, so learn the headings, briefly remember the meanings and then when you are asked about it, if you quote the correct standard and only give a biref summary of what it means you should be fine.

    This is what I did and I passed.
