hi there. iam working on control account in unit 5. there is a question iam stuck on.

during the year bad debts of 600 pounds where written off. opening debtors where 750 pounds and closing debtors where 950 pounds. cash recevied from debtors was 8,640 pounds.

what where the credit sales during the year?

    I think this may be an Intermediate level question.

    Debits

    Opening Balance £750

    Sales £9,440

    Total £10,190


    Credits

    Cash received £8,640

    Bad Debts £600

    Bal C/D £950

    Total £10,190

    It has been a long time since I did this, I hope this helps.
