Inland Revenue - Payslip Booklet

Hi

Has everyone else received their yellow payslip booklet for the 2007-08 Tax Year?

I seem to remember reading there was a few problems with them being issued this year.

I've just got a new client who says they haven't received their book and they don't want to make their payment online, so I was wondering what they should do?

I'm about to ring the Inland Revenue but as it's a new client I'm not sure if they will speak to me, I'm hoping they will talk to me about the problem in general even if they won't talk about the specific client!!

Sue

I've been trying to ring the telephone number on the front of the payslip booklet, but like yesterday afternoon it seems to be constantly engaged.

I've looked on the HMRC website and it seems that as long as we give the Inland Revenue all the details, it should be ok, so I'll create my own payslip for the time being!!!

    Hi Helen

I've received some, but not all!!

I suspect that the booklet went to the client's old Accountant and they have lost it!!

I seem to recall it's acceptable to send a cheque with a covering letter with all the relevant reference numbers on.
If you do this I'd be inclined to call a couple of weeks later to check they have allocated the payment correctly.

I've paid without a slip before. Just so long as you don't make a mistake with the reference numbers, it should be fine.

If anyone has any spare CIS25 vouchers, I could do with some!

    Hi

Sheelagh - thanks for the advice, I've sent a form to my client with all the information on, so they can make a payment.

Helen - My knowledge of CIS isnt that great, so I could be wrong but I thought the CIS25's were the vouchers that were partially preprinted, have I got the wrong thing, because I can never remember what is what without checking???

You're right Sue - I was just joking.

I haven't enough to finish April (and part of March!). The IR won't send me any more until they've processed the last lot I sent in - then they can confirm that I do need more!

I did wonder whether you were being sarcastic by asking for the vouchers, but didn't think there were enough exclamation marks!!!
