Just doing a small study for my CPD! Do all you self-employed members take regular breaks, even when busy? Do you sit in a comfortable chair when working and never get back ache? I would appreciate your comments. Thanks.

    Hi
I do try to sit properly at my desk, and I do find it makes a difference to the amount and level of back pain I suffer.
I don't take breaks although I'm sure I would feel more comfortable, less stressed and work smarter if I did.
The most difficult time is when I visit clients offices to work. There tends to be an attitude that because I am a visitor and I am only there for a few hours that ergonomic seating is not a priority. I understand that point of view, but it can be really hard on the back if I spend a large part of the day or week visiting various clients offices.

no regular breaks, chair's comfy and luckily i don't get back ache, but i'm sure that my set-up wouldn't pass any h&s regulations.

I agree with Sheelagh about clients offices- so uncomfortable and also the smallest working area ever.
At home, tend to work through without breaks and could do with a better chair.
Haven't suffered with back ache yet but have got RSI in right hand so do use an ergonomic mouse with my left hand.
