I work full time for a private limited comapny, but would like to carry out bookkeeping on a part time basis for private clients. i have registered as self employed with HMR & C, am in the process of registering as a MIP & will arrange PII.Have researched & decided on an hourly rate.
The only sticking point is marketing;I have sent letters to 10 local accountancy practices & after a month have received one negative reply.Where do I advertise?

It's all about timing - they may be keeping your details. A client may suddenly mention they need help, and you never know.
If there are any local events coming up for the spring/summer, they might have programmes in which you could place an advert for very little money.
I did one for our panto along the lines of 'Even Baron Hardup needs his accounts on time!'
