BTC - Marginal relief

Can anyone help with the marginal relief question 2.4. Where do they get the 750,000 figure from in the calculation? I thought that the upper limit of 1,500,000 was the figure to use!

    Without seeing the question I would guess, either an associated company or only half the year?
