Re:Study Buddy
My thyroxin levels have increased again and still way too high. So my doctor has increased my medication by EIGHT TIMES  and prescribed me 100mg of something else. But the medication that I'm on kills my white blood cells. So I've got to have blood tests every 10 days to make sure I have enough so that I'm not ill all the time. And now even if I just get a tickle in my throat I have to go to the doctors cos it might be glandular fever. If I have a headache I have to go incase its flu
and my new medication is going to make me put on most of the weight that I've lost
And the other day when I went to the hospital I found out I have graves disease in my eyes, which I already knew, but apparantly it's quite serious now. And I've got mild thyroid disease as well. The eye doctor is hoping that the increase in medication on its own should clear up the thyroid disease and stop the graves disease from getting worse. I've got to go back in 2 weeks to make sure it's helping then every 2 months after that.
My work are being really good and supportive about it. They give me time off when I need it for appointment and they've even given me some paid leave

Re:Study Buddy
This is the time when you think that you've killed the conversation because no body knows what to say.
Illness can be hard on both the sufferer and those close by. If you are fit and well it's hard to know how to respond and to understand what people are going through.
All I can say is try not to let it get to you, Go and have a good cry every now and then and try to face it down. Live every day to the full.
And don't forget, we buddies can and will be supportive when and if we can, both on open forum and in PM's.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
To be serious for a moment, good often comes from bad.
When I was ill a few years back it changed my life completely.
I resolved to live a different life and to turn my dreams into reality.
The life I have now would not have been possible if I had not become ill.
When I became ill again at the end of last year, instead of letting it pull me down, I resolved to turn that into something positive too.
It's not easy and it does take time. But you do grow from these experiences.
