Closing stock adjustment

I added the extra £40,000 closing stock (adjustment from £50,000 to £90,000) onto the existing purchases figure in Scenario 2 and then indexed it for the new unit price. I'm thinking now that maybe I should have indexed the purchase figure first, then added the £40,000. Or have I completely lost the plot :?
What did everyone else do?

    I just added it onto closing stovk, thinking i havn't done enough with it now!

    I didn't treat it as an adjustment either, just a junior recording the figure incorrectly, really confused now
