Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
I know the feeling but right now it's DFS I'm more worried about. I've found the PCR past papers fairly easy, so I'm not too worried about it... yet.0 -
Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
I did DFS in DEC, learnt all the Ias etc and you didnt need to quote any, but surely there wont be another paper like that. It was a marathon in Dec, hardly anyone finished early and we were all exhausted.0 -
Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
So hopefully they'll realise they made it too hard in December and make it really easy this time. Yeah, in my dreams

Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
It's gotta be unlikely you'll get an extended trial balance like DEC0 -
Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
Yeah, the DFS paper was rather long last year I agree. Just learn the formulas and you should be fine.
PCR I think is an alright paper, I found this paper easier than PEV and Monday I thought was alright so hopefully PCR will also be the same. It's just the wordy questions that i'll be concentrating on, like the reasoning behind variances, contribution, fixed cost word questions.0 -
Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
we should not be sure that PCR will be alright. They say PEV is harder than PCR but if they made PEV easier they might make PCR harder this time around. What do you think? Back to my revision then.0 -
Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
That's what was worrying me! General consensus is that PEV was ok so maybe PCR will trip us up!!!but I hope not.......0 -
Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
Can some1 help me? I'm revising for PCR but i'm really confused with the limiting factos. on the past 2 past papers i've done they've asked you to say which is the limiting factor, which is fine, but when you revise your production they use THAT limited factor. I thought the whole point is to work out which will be more cost effective, which would be the other altenative. Does any1 know why they do it like that?

You use THAT limiting factor as that is the maximum additional you can possibly make.0 -

Am am sitting PCR tomorrow, I have been looking at past papers in particular June 06. The maintenance stepped cost is confusing the hell out of me. How do they get to ĂÂŁ440,000, I have worked out that it is ĂÂŁ55,000 x 8 but where does the 8 come from there is a similar quetion in Dec 04 paper so I am worried this will come up. I am having trouble with imiting factors as well, nightmare! PEV paper was Ok
would appreciate some help
good luck0 -

Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
sorry havent replied before I have had internet probs. I am going to do that paper later but I have had a quick look and it probably is 72000 rounded up to 80000 as it says every 10000 or part thereof0 -
Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
The budgeted figure is 275/50*10,000 which is the increased productions units = ĂÂŁ55,000.
2. The actual units of 72,000/10,000= 7.2 rounded to 8units. therefore 8xĂÂŁ55000 = ĂÂŁ440,000
Hope this help.

Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
I'm really worried about PCR tomorrow, I thought I understood it so I just concentrated on PEV..big mistake! I'm confident with the flexing of the budget and working out all the costs etc but really struggle with the written part of the exams. As for section one, I can do the normal budgets but get stuck when they ask you to verify the limiting factor, I can do it but can never get the format right! I guess you still get marks just not full marks :? never mind, this time tomorrow night I will be able to relax for the first time in weeks!
Good luck everyone for tomorrow

Re:WORRIED ABOUT PCR?
As i'm doing the Diploma route I think the PEV / PCR route is alot easier than MAC (the two combined). Now that was a long exam in December
