Piece of cake
Straight forward, as planned.. Walked in hardly doing any revision and was done in an hour and a half! Can't complain!

Re:DFS
Errrrr.......... where do we start? Having sat and passed DFS myself, I'm surprised by your comments unless this paper was spectacularly easy.
Are you sure you did everything and all of it correctly since I find it hard to believe unless you're exceptionally talented, write like Speedy Gonzales and possess a photographic memory?
Please also bear in mind that your comments might be interpreted as insensitive by those who haven't found it so easy and are worrying right now.

Re:DFS
I can't say that the exam was easy, but it wasn't as hard as I imagined. You neded to do alot of writing, so I have no idea how you can finish in 1hr1/2!0 -
Re:DFS
I didn't find the exam easy, even though i have studyed for the past 2weeks, there were quite a few thing i missed

Re:DFS
How long did the Dec 06 paper take you? That might give an indication of how quick / talented you are.0 -

Thats a real shame, you get so much more pleasure from passing when you put the hard work in to start with. Maybe next time when you dont need to revise, you could use the time to help others on here.
Good luck with your result

Re:DFS
The last time someone told me an exam was a piece of cake I was 11 years old. I'd found it hard. Funnily enough my friend was bottem of the class aand I was in the top 4.
Then again you may have done OK with this one, but struggled with BTC??

Re:DFS
It's not a race. Passing is all that counts.0 -
Re:DFS
I finished early too and I am really panicking that I have done it all wrong. I had finished in an hour and a half and checked it twice but everyone else was still writing.
Cant believe I have to wait until 21st August to find out if I have totally messed up or not

Re:DFS
Hey its not worth worrying now!! You will be fine Im sure. If you have put the hard work in, and give it your best shot, you cant do any more.
And on the bright side, its my birthday 22nd August :thumbup:0 -

Thanks for the reply - I hope you are right0 -
Re:DFS
I didn't like to ask. I thought it was something I should know!0 -
Re:DFS
I found the exam fairly straightforward but there was the odd wee thing that was maybe different to what we might have been expecting.
I'd definitely agree and say it's NOT a race, and it's not a contest to see who got the most marks. If it was, there would be a league table. But there isn't.
It's about competence, and about presenting your knowledge in such a way that the examiner can assess it as competent.
It's also about having more knowledge than would maybe be tested, which would show through in being more confident in the answers you do give. For example, if you'd worked really hard on learning all the IAS's, you'd only have to mention maybe one or two. But the fact you had overall understanding would I think show through.
Anyway I hope everyone here does well, and that we all enjoy a well deserved break/ pint/ bar of chocolate.
PS What are WUMS?0 -
Re:DFS
I quite enjoyed the paper, I waffled on in section 2 and done the TB well. My Consol Bal went funny and so my CFS didnt balance right...bah, an hour and half? You must be joking, either u wrote fast or failed due to lack of information...i didnt feel happy finishin the paper until after 3 hrs!!0 -

Re:DFS
Chris - you're not Mr C are you?
:shock:0 -
Re:DFS
there was no way you finished that in 1 half hours the last bit alone was a nightmare, how anyone can remember the gearing ratio was beyond me and the report took ages !!0 -
Re:DFS
I wouldn't say the exam was easy, but it wasn't as hard as I expected it to be either, but come on half hour impossible you wouldn't of been able to write everything in that time never mind work it out.
Luckly I had looked at the gearing ratio before I went in the exam room lol0 -
Re:DFS
Mr C gone into hiding? Maybe he has realised that maybe he rushed it?0 -

Re:DFS
So how long did it take everyone? I am worried sick now you all seem to think an hour and a half is impossible. I have failed for definite then0 -
Re:DFS
Took me about 2 and a half hours I spent an hour on section 2 to start with because otherwise I knew I would forget the formulas, I couldn't remember the IAs numbers but everything else seemend to go ok, which is a much better feeling than yesterday roll on PTC.0
