how did everyone worked out the direct labour cost in operating statement since overtime is treated as direct labour cost not production overheads? or should i have ignored overtime altogether in the statement. nothing else i can do really. :roll:

    i put the over time cost in there with the basic hours as it was classed as a direct labour cost.

    i put the total hours for std n lux goods and then did and overtime thingy at the bottom x5

    For part 1.2, did any work out that there was idle time for the 10 extra employees. Confused me loads i was expecting overtime.

    yes i had idle time (or excess hours)!

    yes i had idle time as well which i charged to the cost of direct labour as you still have to pay it!
