Re:Study Buddy
Farmer G have you got home safely?
Don't know about Rotherham but Barnsley is flooded.
I suppose you will be safe on your tractor!

Re:Study Buddy
Sent home at 2:30 and took an hour and 12 miles to get 2 miles. The direct link past British Steel(as was)was floode as was our industrial estate, Greaseborough and Kilnhurst. Greaseborogh dam burst, flooding all local roads.
Herringthorpe Valley Road(if you know it) is flooded. Thats the main road at the bottom of my hill. I last heard that the Don was threatoning to burst its banks and flood the bus station and possibly Tesco. B & Q is flooded.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Eldest daughters boyfriend lives at Hoyland and can't get through to us, Elsecar and Wentworth are flooded0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Not good!
Too many roads closed here. I had to venture out and took 1 1/2 hours for 6 miles. Some roads are only open to 4 x 4s and buses, I supose a tractor would be allowed too.
Just waiting to see if the Dearne has burst at Darfield again and then it will be back on GMTV in the morning.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I have been told that the area I work in, Parkgate, is under 4 foot of water in places and my industrial estate is closed. Don't know if we can get to work tomorrow or if the office is flooded.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Now that's a shame :P0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Poor Farmer G.
No work!0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I feel sorry for the clients whose paperwork may be under water if our office is flooded, you know what sods the revenue can be like. Talk about incomplete records

Re:Study Buddy
Still, maybe you could make a model out of the mush - be creative in your accounts!
Paper mache - great!0 -
Re:Study Buddy
If you look at BBC South Yorkhire, weather, floods, there are 70 pictures of the area. My office is less than half a mile from picture 3 and 4.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I've just looked at a video on the BBC page for your area. Not looking good mate.

Re:Study Buddy
At last its stopped raining, just been on the Dearne FM website and nearly all of the pictures are of the villages next to me, luckily I live at the top of a hill so I'm safe, not sure how I'm getting into work most of the roads are closed. How about you Farmer G, has it stopped raining yet?0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Farmer G - are you out there? Can you hear us?

Re:Study Buddy
Morning all, stopped raining at present. Apparently only one road open into our industrial estate, we think the power and phones are off, don't know about flooding yet. No buses running in Rotherham and Ulley reservoir about to burst. Vast areas that lie in its path have been evacuated. Looking grim.
Our power went off at 9:30 last night and came back on during the night.0 -
Re:Study BuddyBaggybooks wrote:Farmer G - are you out there? Can you hear us?

Morning, Helen, I'm here. OK for now but you never know when we get to the office.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I've just seen the news and I wasn't sure if you had been evacuated too. We had a power cut in the middle of the night.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
We are the opposite side of the town to the Ulley reservoir. We do have Thrybergh reservoir near us but as we are on the top of a hill, if it goes, it won't affect us0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Morning All,
blimey FG, sounds like you and Charlie M are having a bit of a tough time up there. Has it happened before there or is it the first time?0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I knew you were near one resevoir but couldn't remember which one. Thank God for hills, I don't think I will complain when I walk up the hill home again0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Morning gang.

We.ve had bad floods before but nowhere near as bad as this0 -
Re:Study Buddy
We live by the river Frome and it is all but a trickle, every so often, when it rains hard, it burst's its banks, my parents house got flooded and now they are signed up to the automatic response from the Flood Defence team and they get a 4am call telling them to get to high ground or leave the house if there is a warning in place, you will probably go on the books now!0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Hi, Mandy. If our house gets flooded then Rotherham would be under about 100ft of water so we should be ok.0 -
