    Re:Study Buddy

Damn, I missed Gem's comment but thanks to Ann Marie's gleeful I'm-gonna-drop-you-in-the-crap quotation of it, I got the joyous gist.

    So, well said Gem...

However, Ann Marie - while I respect it is your Forum too, you simply cannot keep entering the Study Buddy thread and be offended by what you see here. Nor can you constantly keep reporting things that allegedly upset you to the administration every time; that reminds me of someone 'dobbing' in their class colleagues back at school having assumed the role of teachers pet.

This selective, self elected moderator role doesn't wash. I say selective because you seem to focus on the worst of the comments we make without acknowledging the better ones. According to your profile, you've been a Forum member since late 2005 so where were you when ToadFace was running riot late last year and again only a few weeks ago?

I'm confident the real Forum moderators are already well aware of what is in this thread and none of us are children so please don't treat us like them. Besides, what should they do? Kick out the heaviest Forum posters to pacify and make way for ones who only post every few days or so?

We are not putting other people off joining more in the Forums - that's like saying you're not going to ever watch television again because you didn't like a programme on Channel Four last night. Plain speaking is often called for and the last thing some people need is kind words but no substance.

    Re:Study Buddy

I can enter any forum and read any post, it is a public forum. If members wish to express views that may offend other people, they can do that but must expect that there may be a response.
I did not see all of Toadface's posts, and I know that he cannot post on these forums anymore. He has accepted the Moderator's judgement. I have not elected myself as anything other than a forum member. Quite a few people express very strong opinions, you being one of them Blobby, and you have often been criticised for it. I have chosen to react to a tasteless remark. It doesn't make me any different to anyone else posting their opinion. There seems to be a theme running through the forums that the more one posts, the more ownership of the forums is claimed. I use these forums regularly as a valuable resource at work and I also have made a few good friendships through them. However I am entitled, the same as each and every person no matter how small or how great is their post count, to publish my views.

    Re:Study Buddy

No one has ever suggested you are prohibited from entering any of the threads Ann Marie and you are fully entitled to make a response. However - and I'm assuming here - that most of us feel it's 'unethical' and maybe unwise for you to admit to keep contacting the administrators without allowing us an opportunity to explain or apologise first. I therefore stand by the teachers pet analogy from my previous post.

No-one has ownership of the Forums, but of course if we post more - and it cannot be denied that we do - then we're obviously more likely to shape things. If others think there is an 'inner circle' - and I wouldn't argue the existence of one - then we cannot help that since most of us have known each other for so long now and are on very friendly terms. No-one is excluded by us - only if they choose to exclude themselves by their actions.

I was that bloke dressed like 'cosmo smallpiece' in the front of the audience and I saw them all

Morning, everyone. We sit with bated breath this morning because those chappies and chappesses at the weather centre have promised us more heavy rain, thunderstorms and hail today. Isn't it great to live in Britain.

    Moring all,

are you going into work again today FG or is it another day at home? I saw the weather forecast saying we will have rain on and off for the next 13 days, that is down here of course but I really hope you have seen the worst of it.

Alright H! Very grey here but dry at the minute. At least it's a good excuse for not cutting the grass, my garden is a right state but hey, don't want to electocute myself do I!

Sounds like you've done a risk assessment!

Slabs are the answer - nothing to do but brush them twice a year.

Yes, I did a health and safety check on the garden, it's not good for my health to keep mowing the lawn and it's not safe for the frog who has taken up residency in the grass!! See, I'm being eco friendly :?

    That's your answer!

Turn it into one of those swampy gardens that go wild!

Might get a little smelly, but the neighbours won't mind!

As it happens, the neigbours are building a pond and they are going to put loads of frogs in it. We have already tried to capture my frog to go in the pond but he wants to stay with me!

Did you see that wildlife programme last night?

It was about kilopedes - there were limbs everywhere.

I'd never heard of them - but this guy rushed into the jungle and shouted out what they were...
